The National Christian Council of Sri Lanka while congratulating President Gotabaha Rajapaksa on his election victory yesterday said the people have, via ballot spoken and manifested their mandate in an election that was conducted peacefully.&We express our appreciation to the Independence Election Commission and all the officials for their commitment to a tedious task , well carried out,& the NCC said in a statement. The NCC called upon all stakeholders in the country including political religious civil society representatives to support and stand in solidarity in achieving this goal for our nation.The statement in full:The National Christian Council of Sri Lanka (NCCSL) congratulates Gotabaya Rajapaksa as he assumes leadership as the seventh Executive President of our nation, Sri Lanka.
